This year's tour is mostly arena because of ticket sales fears. Sold out in hours
Next year it will be back at stadiums again

Re: U2
The ZOOTV tour almost bankrupted them. That's why it went back to 'normal ' after that

Oh look at the trendies trying to be 'out there' by pretending to like them. Pathetic. Grow up

Re: U2
The early albums like Boy and October were top notch in my opinion, and up until the live album under a blood red sky, I really liked them, after that live album, it all got very over produced and down hill and shit for my liking, although for U2 the reverse and they became the biggest band of there generation.

Early stuff is still superb though.

Used to love them, saw Joshua Tree live great live band.

Went to see Zoo TV spent the whole gig flicking through channels in between songs totally killed it. Going on about politics and shit.

Man's a cunt, but I do like his music.

Music for those who don't really like music.

This based on observing various people's CD collections.

Re: U2
As for U2, I think they're pretty pants now and the last few albums have been fucking dull. I did, however, love the Unforgettable Fire album. Also, Achtung Baby was more than decent. Some cracking individual songs off the other albums as well, New Year's Day, I Will Follow, Lemon, Red Hill Mining Town. Yes, Bono is a cock but I generally don't choose to dislike a band due to the personality of the singer.

So would you leave the radio on for 5,6,7,8 by Steps?

Re: U2
I did the 360 tour . Think it still has the record of most ever tour trucks (52) of any tour
There were three stages on the go at any one time . One being built .one being used and one being taken down

I asked the edge as seeing as he was born in the same hospitial as Bobby Moore did he support west ham

I got a filthy look and another driver ushered me out of catering before i could get myself into any more trouble

Re: U2
Bono is an egotist and then some without doubt. Forget the personalities as imo they have written some truly brilliant songs. First saw them in Ipswich before they hit the real big time.....were awesome. Early songs like October, I will follow, then through Joshua Tree etc and still writing some great stuff. Just my opinion

Re: U2
I loved the early stuff as it seemed much more genuine, heartfelt and inventive. Not been so keen on them from 'Achtung Baby' onwards. I think Rattle and Hum and The Joshua Tree made them so famous that their egos got too big.

I just wish they would go back to the music, writing stuff that wasn't so 'fake sounding', (ie. the stuff they did before the money and fame made them sell out big time with the image becoming much more important than the music)

I know they have calmed it down a bit since, but the songs just aren't the same anymore.

It just seems like they are knocking them out because the record company are asking where the album is rather than any genuine love of the music itself.
